‘The Master’ Toshi for DicE Magazine

Toshi is a humble man, despite being known as 'The Master' mechanic in the classic/vintage motorcycle world. Therefore it was a pleasurable challenge to get him to share his approach to his craft and reveal the character behind the enigma for this short documentary, commissioned by DicE Magazine.

As well as 10 individual films showcasing each model in the 2022 ‘Modern Classic’ range, we were asked to edit together a single, minute long ‘family’ film, featuring all the models.

Yamaha at Goodwood Festival of Speed

I was commissioned by Potski Media to create a motorcycle reveal film for their client, Yamaha Europe.

Their brief was to document ex Moto GP rider Niall Mackenzie ride the XSR900 DB40 prototype up the famous hill climb, as well capture general iconic Goodwood vibes, all wrapped up in a 1 minute video.

At the time of writing this, it is Yamaha Europe’s second most viewed video ever, with over 425,000 views.

In partnership with DicE TV, this is the second in a series of shorts documentaries I’ve made exploring what fuels our passion for automotive and, as we approach the end of the road for the combustion engine, asks; what is the future of car culture?

Merlin McCormack is founder of west London automotive empire Duke of London, and owner of a Ferrari Testarossa, a car he has dreamt about owning since childhood.
